Opportunities for Artists in Las Vegas

Las Vegas continues to support its vibrant arts community with several exciting calls for proposals. The city’s Public Art and Gallery Program invites curators, artists, and collectives to submit exhibit proposals by August 1, 2025, for the chance to showcase their work in city-operated galleries. These exhibitions focus on innovative, site-specific projects that engage the public and contribute to the city’s cultural fabric.

Additionally, the annual Public Employee Art Exhibition welcomes submissions from all current and retired Nevada public employees. Participants can submit up to two recent artworks, with a deadline of August 7, 2025. This unique program celebrates the creativity within Nevada’s public workforce while offering artists a platform to share their work with the broader community.

Creative Classes and Programs for Youth

For families and young artists, Las Vegas offers enriching classes designed to build artistic skills and encourage creative expression. Local artist Mary Homan leads foundational painting and drawing classes at the Charleston Heights Arts Center, providing a fun and supportive environment for youth to explore their creativity and develop confidence.

The Nevada School of the Arts is also expanding its visual arts curriculum for the 2024–2025 school year. Under the leadership of Erik Beehn and new faculty member Brian Martinez, students can enroll in courses such as Beginning Acrylic Painting, Beginning Drawing, and 3D Fundamentals, many held at the Historic Fifth Street School. With limited enrollment, early registration is encouraged for those eager to grow their artistic skills.
